Was soooooo good! We got take out so not sure how dinning in would be!? But all the food was delicious!(: the lettuce wraps, rice balls, the "catcher" and "firefly" sushi was amazing! And the kung pow chicken was great! Would eat here again and again!(: only giving it 4 stars since we didnt dine in! But if the experience is great then i will give it five!(:

Hands down the WORST sushi I have ever tried to eat. The hubs and I both walked out and left our food on the table. The rice (mush) is flavorless, the fillings (sparse) were very fishy. It is OBVIOUSLY rolled many hours (days?) before you order it. We didn't bother complaining because we didn't want a giftcard. Just avoid.

This is my go to sushi chain when I need a roll! I've been to three OKC locations and they are all nice and clean with friendly staff and quality food! I've ordered ahead and picked up and stopped in for a quick lunch! Their egg drop soup is very good and you can't go wrong with any sushi roll!

Great Asian food! Best we've found in the Oklahoma City/Edmond area. Fresh food! Super fast and friendly service, and a super clean environmenr! If you like Pei Wei you will love this place!

Nhinja is a solid place for sushi if you're in the area and craving some. The decor inside is nice and "hip", and not overly bright or fluorescent. Service and prep are pretty speedy and friendly, and they offer you water or something else to drink while you wait (whether dining in or taking out). Dragon roll (10pc, $9.95) (Inside: Tempura shrimp, cucumber, avocado. Outside: Eel, avocado, eel sauce, scallions.) 4/5: As far as structural integrity, this roll was a-okay; it didn't fall apart on me, but the seaweed could be more "tender" so it breaks more easily. The shrimp is fine -nothing special about it either way, but it tastes good. I can't say I'm a fan of the cucumber that they use, because it's a little too thick for me and causes the sushi to taste more bland that it would without. Luckily, the eel on the outside is solid. It has its own good taste, and is even better with the eel sauce and scallions, and it's not stretchy and chewy like bad eel can be. Nhinja poppers (2pc, $2.25 -comes in 4 and 6 as well) (Tempura fried ice balls stuffed with salmon, comes with spicy mayo dipping sauce) 4/5: This can go one of two ways, depending on what you prefer. I was personally a little disappointed that it was mostly rice ball with a smidgen of salmon in the middle, but in the end the tempura fried rice ball with the spicy mayo is tasty and I viewed the bit of salmon as a little treat to get to, instead of the main point of the popper.

This is our favorite quick dinner place. We enjoy the stir fry dishes and the reasonable price. The service is typically good (you order at the counter and they bring it out). They've only gotten my order wrong once, and went above and beyond on the next visit when we brought it to their attention.

Great sushi for a great price!!! The staff is great and rolls are delicious (and come out quick too) the atmosphere is incredible. Definitely a great sushi place in Oklahoma

Fast food atmosphere. The decor is bizarre retro 70s with white plastic molded seats. No table service, wine in overpriced mini-bottles, and the sushi? Yuck!!

I just want to start off by saying that I love Nhinja! I eat here several (4-6) times per week! It's my goto place for a protein packed meal after the gym. I usually get the General Tso's Chicken and Fried Rice, although almost everything I've eaten I like! The manager Gilbert and his team always take great care of me and have even started to recognize me as I come in... I just figured since I'm such a fan, I might as well put in a good word for anyone considering eating here. - Casey C.

Great tempura, lettuce wraps, and veggie rolls. I really liked the roll with steak and eel sauce too. (It's not sushi, but it's clever and delicious.) I haven't tried any of the fish rolls because we are in a landlocked state and I am not a masochist. Banana spring rolls were a nice finish for my meal.

Awesome decor! The food is average, service is decent and efficient. A good hip place with decent prices for average Chinese food and sushi. We tried a few different dishes (sweet & sour, mongolian, chilli, fried rice, the firecracker, and some more.) My favorite part of my visit was the decor. I loved the hip urban Japanese vibe and the cool-looking drinks. It's a place I wouldn't mind grabbing a quick lunch, just to look around for a bit longer.

Found my sushi groove in okc! Great environment, clean, fast service and very helpful staff... It is family owned also ... So it can't get any better.. You can order online and they will have it ready, but they also do deliveries. Ifbyou are new to sushi try the fish lips made with yellow tail.... Super mild but add thevsesame seeds it gives a little bit of texture and a nutty flavor to the mix

The food is extremely disappointing. They say they "prepare your meal fresh when you order" but my JoJo sushi roll had been premade and sitting in a cooler for hours, the rice, asparagus and steak had congealed together. Our Thunder roll with tempura shrimp was the same way. The chicken used in the fried rice was dried out and frozen. And the service was nothing to write home about. I don't plan on returning.

Pretty good stuff. I like the casual atmosphere here. A lot of sushi places are very formal and don't seem that inviting when you just want to grab some sushi on the way home. Sushi Nhinja is the perfect place to grab some sushi and go. The food is not bad. It is not the best in town, but it is definitely good for the money and time. It is a good overall value and some pretty tasty sushi.

I really like the whole concept and setup. The decor is cute, but I feel like I might be annoyed if I actually had to sit there and eat... I got takeout which was totally efficient and they even gave me TWO fortune cookies :) Three stars rather than four because the food was a little meh - I got four steamed gyoza and a 911 roll, and everything tasted good but presentation was kinda sloppy (like, the roll just looked really sloppy) and both the roll and the gyoza were kind of tough to eat because they tended to fall apart. Still tasty though!

I've gotten this as take-out a couple times and it's pretty good. The veg roll with avo & cucumber is really good and so is the Cantonese Cashew wok.

Finally an inexpensive, nearby place for awesome sushi. I like the casual, clean environment of Nhinja, and the owners and staff were very friendly. They offer a good variety of sushi rolls and wok dishes. I tried the fish lips, catcher, and 911 rolls, which were all very good. Simple, but delicious. The bf tried the honey ginger chicken, which was also good but kind of mediocre. Overall, a good place. I'm glad there are more affordable options for GOOD sushi (*ahem* shiki) so close to where I live.

Overall, I've always been really impressed with this cute little joint up north. I like the clean, hip decor and the ordering setup. Order in line but they bring it out to you, all the soy, sauces, chopsticks, etc. are self service. A few helpful folks can be flagged down when if you need something. Well, you know I never send anything back, but on Sunday, I had cause to. Or at least I believe I had cause to. I ordered the Geisha Roll (tempura shrimp, avocado, cream cheese, tempura flakes, spicy mayo and eel sauce). For some bizarre reason, there was something in it that tasted like banana to me. There is nothing banana on their menu (I checked because I thought they might be using the same tempura oil to do bananas as the shrimp in my roll, but they don't do bananas tempura). I don't like banana, and can taste the slightest hint, probably due to a horrible, fake-banana flavored medicine I had to take when I was a kid. Who knows, maybe it was all in my head, but I couldn't eat the roll. But they were great, and if they thought I was crazy or smoking some banana-flavored crack, they didn't say so to my face. They took back the roll, brought me out a different roll and were really nice about it. Since the replacement roll I ordered was a few dollars cheaper than what we paid for, when the manager brought my roll out, he also gave us a little card for a free appetizer the next time. That brought what would have been a three star review up to a four. Manager Matt did a great job not making me feel like a big banana head. Mr K had the General Tso's chicken with rice and it was really good. A big Sapporo each and a plentiful helping of edamame didn't hurt either. Good prices, and good to know we can leave the house, eat sushi, and make it to Quail for a movie in exactly an hour (though it would be more enjoyable to not cut it quite so close). Side note to boyfriends everywhere: When we ask you to taste a bite of sushi to see if you if can pick up a hint of a flavor, slathering it in wasabi will not help your spidey sense. That is all.

Excellent concept - take out sushi with alcohol! The food is actually really good too and i'm picky about my sushi. The fried ice cream is the best I've ever had.

This is probably my favorite sushi place. It's not over priced and I haven't tried a roll I didn't like. The atmosphere is casual and the service is fast.

This place is Japanese fast food in a strip mall, but that being said is done quite well. The interior has a cartoonish style and they have a selection of sweet drinks that kids will love. They have a large selection of sushi and also the traditional Chinese dishes most Americans would expect (broccoli beef, kung pao chicken, etc). This is definitely a fun place to stop for a quick lunch.

Gross. That's what comes to mind when I eat this food. I had sushi earlier and it was okay. Wasn't anything to write home about, but it tasted fine. However, I got one of the wok meals, and I'm starving from hardly eating all day but I can't finish this. The fried rice is nasty. I can make something better at home. The honey chicken soggy. I won't be going back.

I cannot begin to express my disappointment with the Nhinja in Edmond. My wife had purchased 2 EatAroundOKC vouchers for this location. We had never been to this Nhinja before and decided to go for lunch today. After ordering we showed the cashier our voucher on the phone. She said "we need a printed voucher" Seriously? What year is this that I need to bring in a printed copy. I have never had this issue anywhere before. There was not " I'm sorry let me see what we can do" or anything. It was just "to bad for you" and no regard for customer service at all. Needless to say I said fine and left. I contacted EatAroundOKC who promptly refunded our money and I will never be returning to Nhinja. UPDATE 6/22/2012: After contacting Nhinja's corporate office. I was e-mailed by Patrick who was a complete professional. (I was also called but could not take the call at the time) To make a long story short Patrick was more than accommodating and his professional nature speak volumes for the business. July 3rd 2012 they will be installing WiFi networks and all cashiers will be trained on handling customer complaints as well as accepting the digital vouchers. I have to say rarely do business actually listen to complaints from their customers and take action but in this case Nhinja gets and A+. Patrick also offered a free meal but I did decline as this was not my intention in bringing this issue to light. It was a very nice gesture but I will be returning with my family as paying customers. Thank you Patrick and Nhinja!

The sashimi was good. The chicken on all of the dishes is the same and not good. I'm guessing they source frozen chicken strips and re-heat them. It makes them taste dry and a bit tough. The flavor of the honey chicken, mongolian beef and lo mein was good. They didn't have good air conditioning and this was before the latest heat wave so if I went again I wouldn't go on a hot day.

  • Nick B.

Absolutely terrible. The fish did not taste fresh at all, I couldn't even finish my meal. The service was sub-par and restaurant itself did not look clean.

I have been to eat at the May location several times and it is always great! the prices are reasonable. The sushi is fresh as well. It's one of the best(if not) the best sushi place in town!

Driving across the country and had to stop for dinner. Craving sushi. Scared of getting bad sushi? Nahhh. This was a fun place. Food came out fast and tasted just fine. Some of the special rolls were really interesting and the one I had had steak on it. Surprisingly good.

Pretty good sushi for half the price of other sushi places. Just don't expect mind blowing sushi.

I went in today with some co-workers, and tried the Kung Pao Chicken, and it was really good. A co-worker had the sushi, and it looked really good as well! The service was prompt and friendly, and the portions were good size. I highly recommend you try it too! I only wish there was one on the South side.

Clean and simple. I have to first give kudos to the design and feel of this establishment. Nhinja Sushi & Wok accomplishes exactly what it sets out to do. You're not going to find mind-blowing sushi here (or in Oklahoma for that matter). You're not going to find authenticity here. You're going to find affordable sushi and Chinese dishes (think Pei Wei) in a fresh environment. During my first visit, I sampled two rolls although I can't seem to remember what exactly I tried. It was decent. Nothing memorable though. But my sister wholly enjoyed her dish of fried rice. During my second visit, I opted for the General Tso's chicken which was a delightful surprise. The chicken was thick and meaty while not completely encompassed in thick batter. All in all, the portions were sizable and well priced. I liked that they offered a nice selection of beverages. And still, I really have to give it up to the design of the venue. Bring your friends, enjoy the atmosphere, and the reasonably priced menu offerings. My best comparisons would be Coolgreens + Pei Wei.

Portions were small, spicy tuna roll was dry. Spider roll was great. Table was not clean. Overall, not super impressed (especially after spending a lot).

Awesome sushi and other menu items. My wife gets different sushi almost every time and has never complained. I like the chicken fried rice. Prices are reasonable. One of our favorite quick spots.

    (4)

Good portion sizes, above average taste. Items that are good IMO are California roll, Spicy Tuna roll, cream cheese puffs, Nhinja poppers, hot and sour soup. Will return again.

Fun contemporary environment, and family owned! Ate in, and found this while I was in OKC on business. I had the 911 roll, the edamame beans, and the Nhinja poppers. All were excellent! The Nhinja poppers are a little larger than a golf ball, and mostly rice with a little salmon inside! I was a little disappointed as they were out of brown rice and the summer rolls (I visited the restaurant around 7 pm in the evening). I also had a glass of their white wine, and it was excellent! Would definitely go back!

It's alright. Nothing impressive considering the other asian places nearby. If I want asian, I will probably go to Thai Stop instead. Shiki has better sushi.

  • Alisha R.

terrible - tried using a groupon twice, the same cashier guy marked both groupons as used. the third visit, the manager wouldnt redeem because his cashier marked the coupons as used and didnt really give us the discount the previous visits. manager was rude and dishonest not to give the discount but groupon refunded the money. the food is not worth the time or money and there are plenty better options. if you want cheap and far below average tasting food then go to nhinja... otherwise go to okura, even Kangs, musashis or best sushi in edmond... the sushi bar.

You would think I'd give a higher rating to a place I eat at about once a week, but sadly, this is the rating it deserves. It's an ok, just fine, nothing special place with ok, just fine sushi and ok, just fine wok dishes. I obviously like some things well enough since I'm there a lot, but.... gah. One of my first times there, I made the mistake of trying to order tuna maki and unagi maki. The girl at the register had no clue what I meant, and told me those weren't possible... if you want plain tuna, or salmon, maki, you have to actually use their goofy names and ask for a fishlips roll with either tuna or salmon. This isn't a big deal, obviously, but it's a bit of a turn-off. A bigger turn off is that I can't get a freaking eel roll or salmon+avocado roll, because... they aren't on the menu. Every other sushi place I've been to has always been super accommodating about making off menu rolls if they have the ingredients, and just charging an appropriate price, but since this place is essentially fast food sushi with confused highschool aged order takers, that isn't possible here. Which, I mean, eel nigiri is fine and all, but I just prefer it in maki form. The texture is more fun. And I like having avocado in with my tuna or salmon rolls. Fish and roll quality vary. Some days the rolls are nicely formed and stay together, some days they fall apart as soon as you pick up a piece. The salmon is almost always pretty good quality, as is the eel. Not great quality, but not bad. The tuna I've had more misses than hits with, so I won't be ordering it anymore. I don't usually get the wok items, but they are also, in the unprompted words of my husband, "Ok". From the tastes I've had of his, I completely agree. They are, in fact, totally ok. Their options aren't terribly interesting, so they aren't likely to tear me away from my salmon and unagi any time soon. The roll varieties also aren't great. You can't get a lot of the more typical rolls you might want, especially the vegetarian ones, and most of the "fancy" rolls either have mayo or beef on them which... is fine? If you've got a wider selection of traditional or traditional inspired rolls? But less fine when you don't. The miso soup is pretty good, but it has a stronger taste than I prefer, and it's pretty cloudy, if you care about that sort of thing. The staff is always really nice and friendly, even if the kids at the register are kind of clueless. Random things: The chopsticks they provide always smell vaguely smoky. Not like cigarette smoky, but like they've been near a fire, or stored in a box of lapsang souchong. It's weird, and detracts slightly from the flavor of the fish. There are free fortune cookies-- yay. If you're getting a to-go order, you're generally offered a free fountain drink while you wait. Interior is trying a bit too hard to be hip-- lots of white, with a weird glowy ninja logo on wall. If you want to reapply makeup/check for crumbs/ have any use out of the bathroom mirror at all, forget it. It's far too dark in there.

Driving across the country and had to stop for dinner. Craving sushi. Scared of getting bad sushi? Nahhh. This was a fun place. Food came out fast and tasted just fine. Some of the special rolls were really interesting and the one I had had steak on it. Surprisingly good.

Shiki has better sushi.

terrible - tried using a groupon twice, the same cashier guy marked both groupons as used. the third visit, the manager wouldnt redeem because his cashier marked the coupons as used and didnt really give us the discount the previous visits. manager was rude and dishonest not to give the discount but groupon refunded the money. the food is not worth the time or money and there are plenty better options. if you want cheap and far below average tasting food then go to nhinja... otherwise go to okura, even Kangs, musashis or best sushi in edmond... the sushi bar.

I love the variety in the menu, and the atmosphere at Nhinja. The sushi was good for the price, and the service was prompt. A fun place more for friends and young people.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
